Welcome Toby to Cherished Cockers Rescue!! This beautiful boy is 5 yrs old and will be available for adoption through our Rescue.
He is currently being fostered in Parma Ohio. Here is a description of him….
Toby – Loving, Cuddly Boy Ready for His Forever Home
Toby is a sweet, affectionate dog who came from a loving home in South Carolina. Unfortunately, his family had to make the difficult decision to find him a new home after the mom received a diagnosis in April 2026 for a rare medical condition. The resulting financial stress made it impossible for them to continue giving Toby the care and attention he deserves.
About Toby:
Toby is a very lovable companion who thrives on closeness. He loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch or sitting with his people all day long. He is often referred to as a neck scarf.
He’s gentle and enjoys the company of humans, but he would do best in a home where someone is home often, as he really bonds deeply and prefers not to be left alone for long stretches.
Walks are his absolute favorite thing in the world! He lights up the moment he sees the leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood. He has a playful side too—he loves chasing squirrels and rabbits, and if a door is accidentally left open, he may decide it’s time for an adventure (he’s a bit of an escape artist when it comes to open doors). Because of this, a securely fenced yard is a must.
Toby is looking for a patient, loving family who can give him the stability, daily walks, and affection he craves. He has a big heart and will repay your love with endless cuddles, loyalty, and happy zoomies in the yard.
He is often mistaken for a puppy as he can be playful and loves to roll around on his back, I’m a scratchy rug
If you have a secure fenced yard, plenty of time for walks and companionship, and room in your heart for a sweet, snuggly boy, Toby would make a wonderful addition to your family. ❤️

Lucy Update….
We had a quick visit at the vet today to see how Lucy is doing. She is recovering very slow. We are happy to see that she does have feeling in both back feet, but still isn’t using them. We are continuing her exercises and will see the neurologist in a week.

Hello all,
Ziggy here. I’m still doing well overall, I have most of my coat grown back. I am still in my long term foster home with foster Barbara. I went to the vet yesterday for my yearly bloodwork, exam, heartworm preventative and medication refill for my Cushing disease.
All of this costed almost $800 for Cherished Cockers Rescue. They continue to pay my vet bills , and I am what they call a “permanent foster” here n my home.
If you can help with my vet costs, I would really really really appreciate it!!!!

Hi All,
It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to Mia last night. Mia has been with us for almost 2 years now. She was a quirky girl that was adopted and returned the next day for a bite. She has always been “touchy/moody” in this way. Her foster Rebecca was able to bond with her, and although she wasn’t a huge fan of Rebecca’s husband and bit him a time or two, she never did this with Rebecca. She adored Rebecca!! Last night she started acting strange, and was wining, crying, panting, and then her back legs went out. Rebecca took her to Akron MedVet and the diagnosis was NOT Good!! She was paralyzed, a disc issue!! We were looking at $5000 just to do the MRI to determine the damage, and then easily another $8000 for surgery that may or may not help!! So, the decision had to be made, she was in a lot of pain!! At 8-9 yrs old, with her bite issue, we had to say goodbye!! Rebecca shared with us that she and her husband had decided to adopt her, as they knew she wouldn’t get adopted. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This has been very hard on Rebecca, as she is not taking this well. Please keep her in your prayers….
If you can donate for her final vet care expenses, your help is greatly appreciated!!
