The BUGS Early Childhood Climate Summit begins in less than 24 hours, and we are SO excited. With 140 participants and a SOLD OUT event, we can’t wait to welcome everyone.

The day will feature an incredible group of speakers, panelists, and presenters from across health, climate, early childhood, government, education, and community organizations who are coming together around a shared commitment to young children and climate resilience.

Hosted by Build Up San Mateo County, the summit brings together a cross-sector group of participating organizations—including San Mateo County Health, the Sustainability Department, First 5 San Mateo County, the Child Care Partnership Council, Canopy, Skyline College, Stanford’s Center on Early Childhood, and many others.

Community Equity Collaborative is deeply honored to contribute to this work as we launch the nation’s first county-level Early Childhood Climate Action Plan.

Together, we are building climate-resilient spaces where children live, play, and learn.

Join us Saturday, February 28 at 9:30 AM at Izzi at Fair Oaks Preschool for a morning of community, music, coffee, and connection as we come together to grow greener spaces for young children and families.

We’ll have live music from Lori & RJ, coffee from Emerald Hills Café & Roastery, arts and crafts, a resource fair, and free 5-gallon trees available for community members while supplies last.

This is more than an event. It’s an investment in children, community, and the future we are growing together.

Join us on Saturday, February 28 at 9:30 AM for a joyful morning celebrating green spaces and the children who learn and grow in them. Our Preschool Tree Celebration at Izzi at Fair Oaks Preschool brings families, neighbors, and community partners together to support healthy environments where young children can thrive. We’ll gather for community planting, live music from Lori & RJ, coffee from Emerald Hills Café & Roastery, arts and crafts, and a local resource fair — and we’ll be giving away free 5-gallon trees to community members while supplies last. This event is made possible through partnership with Canopy, the San Mateo County Sustainability Department, Community Equity Collaborative, First 5 San Mateo County, 4Cs, SVCF, Community Equity Collaborative, California Interfaith Power & Light, and other local leaders committed to children and climate resilience. When we plant trees, we’re investing in shade, cleaner air, and a healthier future for children. Bring the whole family and help us grow something beautiful together.
