One of our graduating seniors, Lisa-Marie Cante, is heading to a new campus at Mayville State University this fall to play Softball for them!
“I chose Mayville because of how small and welcoming it felt. The softball team had such a sister-loving atmosphere, it truly just felt like home.”
A longtime softball standout, Lisa-Marie grew up around the game: “I started with T-ball and grew up in a huge baseball family. I brought up softball to my dad and he signed me up for rec ball—I’ve been playing ever since.”
What kept her hooked and motivated? “Honestly, I love the pressure. The cheering, the stress, the fast pace especially in travel ball. It’s taught me to stay calm and lean on God in tough moments.”
Through wins and losses, Lisa-Marie says the sport shaped who she is: “Softball taught me how to work with others, to be mentally tough, and to be confident—even off the field.”
While she doesn’t plan to play after college, her love for the game isn’t fading: “I hope to become a sports journalist in the MLB or motorsports. I know softball helped me get here.”
Lisa-Marie, your heart, drive, and faith inspire us. Mayville is lucky to have you—go shine bright in this next chapter!
