These one of a kind table tops are created using a technique called, Fractal Burning. They are produced by running 5,000 volts of electricity through the wood, using electrical step-up voltage transformers. The electricity travels through the wood, scorching it's path and vaporizing the wood. This leaves ashes in the path that the electricity traveled through the wood, just as lightning navigates through the clouds, to the ground, in it's signature, Fractal pattern. The ashes are then removed, leaving Fractal patterns of electricity etched into the wood. These channels are then filled with tinted epoxy resin, which emphasizes the paths of electricity through the wood. The way the electricity travels through the wood depends on so many variables, that no two designs are the same and each piece is truly one of a kind.
