Be part of our "Building a Dementia-Friendly Community" series, starting June 10.

We’ll kick things off with 𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. Learn the basics of dementia, how it changes over time, and what to expect along the way.

We’re excited to introduce a new series highlighting the people behind Fox Valley Memory Project—those who bring compassion, connection, and support to our community every day.

First up is 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 💙

Inspired by her father’s example, Sarah brings a deeply compassionate approach to supporting individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. She finds the most meaning in helping people feel connected and not alone.

Over the years, Sarah has completed numerous trainings and certifications. Her most recent achievement is becoming a Certified Grief Support Specialist through the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is especially dedicated to helping families navigate the unique grief that comes with dementia.

When she’s not working, you might find Sarah enjoying time with family, boating with friends, or getting creative with music and art.

We’re so grateful to have Sarah on our team and to share her with all of you.

Our program team had a great time at the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2026 Wisconsin State Conference! We learned a lot, connected with others in the field, and are very excited to bring new ideas and knowledge into our programming to better serve our community. 💜

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is partnering with Fox Valley Memory Project for a multi-generational summer series. Participants of all ages are invited to join us for guided hikes and themed nature activities.
