Appraisal? You've heard the word, but what exactly does Appraisal mean? 📋

Once you start the mortgage process on your new home, the value of the home also needs to be figured out or "appraised". This number could be the same, higher, or lower than the sales price.

What determines the Appraised Value? An authorized appraiser will consider the condition of the home, its age, location, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and much more. This number also affects insurance, taxes, and the mortgage you will need to purchase the home. 👍

During the home-buying process, be sure to ask if there is an Appraisal Contingency. This contingency allows home buyers to walk away from the deal if the home's value is lower than the agreed-upon purchase price. This will protect you, so you're not paying more than the home is worth. 💰
