What a precious email I received today from Deontra’s Kindness Tour, recognizing my efforts to spread kindness in Memphis.

Deontra started her nonprofit organization at just nine years old, and now at fifteen, she continues her mission of celebrating people who are making a difference in their communities, workplaces, and churches. A few years ago, she even created an incentive program to recognize those who intentionally spread kindness.

I am honored to be one of those individuals she chose to celebrate. But what touched me most wasn’t simply being seen—it was witnessing the joy this remarkable young lady finds in bringing encouragement to others.

There is something truly special about someone so young understanding that kindness matters and that recognizing the light in others helps it shine even brighter.

The mentality of ✨Sparkle✨ teaches us that light shared is never diminished. Watching Deontra bring joy to those who spread joy reminds me that kindness truly is one of the brightest ways we can change the world.
