Learning how to serve kindness and return connection both on and off the court. 💛

Wrapped up our spring session at Promise Academy, SpringHill!! Over 5 weeks, we had the opportunity to share our Pickle with Purpose curriculum with students. We turned every lesson into a life lesson. Through the power of play, students explored essential social-emotional skills—using the word PICKLE as our guide:

🟢 Participation – Showing up and giving their best, on and off the court
🟠 Impulse Control – Practicing patience, sportsmanship, and staying focused
🔵 Communication – Expressing thoughts and listening to teammates with care
💜 Kindness – Learning to treat themselves and others with empathy
❤️ Love – Finding joy in play, community, and connection
💪 Effort – Discovering that growth comes from trying—even when it is hard

Today at the Hope House Clients’ Day Out, we turned the parking lot into a pickleball court! A little fun, movement, and togetherness can spark joy and strengthen community. Hope house is where hope lives- and today, hope played pickleball! 💛🩵💚

We believe pickleball is more than just the game—we believe in building character through play! This week, our students are focused on the letter “I” for Impulse Control as part of our Pickleball with Purpose curriculum. We are exploring how learning to pause, think, and make smart decisions on the court translates to making better choices in everyday life. Whether it is resisting the urge to hit the ball too early or practicing patience with teammates, impulse control is a skill that strengthens both our game and our character.

We kicked off our Pickleball with Purpose classes at Promise Academy Spring Hill, and it was a fantastic start! We focused on the letter “P” for Participation—making sure the students know the importance of showing up, giving your best effort, and supporting teammates both on and off the court! They dived into the game with enthusiasm, learning not just the basics of pickleball but also the value of being present, engaged, and encouraging to others. This is just the beginning of an incredible journey, and we cannot wait to see them grow! Stay tuned as we continue through each letter of PICKLEBALL, teaching life lessons one game at a time! 💙🏓
