UT-TSU Extension Shelby Co We are having a great time visiting with you, learning about natural population shifts and the critical elements of a habitat! This hands on learning activity is so fun and we love getting up out of our seats to learn and connect with our friends while learning about the natural world!

At Compass we know that it’s hard to learn on an empty stomach! We support the Mid-South Food Bank in their efforts to raise awareness of food insecurity and end hunger in our region! Our students learn about how important the Mid-South Food Bank is, spread awareness, collect non-perishables, sort donations at the Food Bank and even distribute it to people in need! They also have an opportunity to fundraiser for the Food Bank knowing that each dollar they raise equates to FOUR meals for a family because of the purchasing power of this large non-profit!

Service with a smile! 😃

Last Friday was Compass Midtown’s first Day of Service of the year!! We had students serving young children, those who are food insecure, community educational disparities, those with health needs & even the Old Forest! Our students learn so much from these unique service experiences!

Here are a few comments they made about what they learned and experienced:
