A pregnant woman was killed in a tragic accident, leaving behind a family now facing unimaginable pain and heartbreak. On March 29, 2026, Andriuna Guffie lost her life after stopping to help someone on the side of the highway, a selfless act that ended in tragedy. She was struck by a driver who did not stop. According to reports, when authorities later located him, he stated that he knew he hit something but did not believe it was a person, and made the decision not to stop. What he left behind was not just something in the road, but a pregnant woman who would never make it back home to her children.
He was arrested hours later, with evidence from the crash still on his vehicle, yet just days later, he was released on house arrest. A family is now left grieving the loss of a mother, a daughter, and an unborn child, while also trying to process how something like this could happen.
This situation raises real questions that we cannot ignore. When someone takes a life behind the wheel and chooses to keep going after hitting something, should that carry stronger consequences? Should hit-and-run cases that result in loss of life be treated with the same level of seriousness as other forms of taking a life? These are conversations that matter, because accountability matters.
Lord, we lift this family up to You right now. Cover them with Your peace, Your strength, and Your comfort as they face days no one is ever prepared for. Be with her children, her loved ones, and everyone affected by this loss. Wrap Your arms around them and carry them through the grief, the questions, and the pain. Let justice be served, and let healing find its way into their hearts. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Please keep this family lifted in your prayers.
