In 1968, Ford fired back in the horsepower wars with the 428 Cobra Jet.

Officially rated at 335 hp for insurance purposes, but known to make far more, it quickly proved itself on the strip and in the showroom. With high torque and NHRA success, the Cobra Jet brought real firepower.
