BREAKING NEWS! My wife the wonderful opportunity to work at her company in Orlando. So I have decided to do what she’s done for me by following me around for my entire career & moving to the Sunshine State! This will get us closer to our daughter and her beautiful family in St. Augustine as well as my mom in the Tampa area and many of my wife’s relatives, too.

We’re very excited for this new chapter. Please DM if you’re ever in the area or might know someone there who’s hiring! Lol.

The end of a remarkable week! A heartwarming on-air goodbye last Wednesday preceded a wonderful celebration last night, marking my tenure in TV news. A notable highlight was a resolution passed by the TN House of Representatives, courtesy of Rep. Antonio Parkinson and numerous others in the Shelby County delegation. Thanks to family & friends who joined us on the roof of the Hyatt Centric Memphis.

Many thanks to the folks in this picture who took part in my final broadcast of “ABC 24 This Week.” For almost a decade, and in some cases longer, they have helped with the show’s mission: to give context and perspective to the week’s biggest stories. Today I’m thrilled to announce my next chapter as I leave behind a TV news career that spanned almost 30 years of telling the stories of Mid-Southerners.

Starting March 24th, I’ll be sharing the stories of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in the role of Director of Strategic Communications! l am thrilled beyond words to be joining the communications team for Methodist Le Bonheur’s six incredible hospitals in the Memphis area.

When deciding it was time to move on from local TV news, I knew I had to work for an organization whose mission I passionately believe in. Methodist Le Bonheur’s more than 100-year history in Memphis, not to mention its consistent ranking as one of the top 75 healthcare systems in the entire country, definitely qualifies.

We are all fortunate to have Methodist Le Bonheur and their team of thoughtful professionals focused on providing quality, accessible and compassionate care to our community.

Not just its many hospitals, outpatient facilities and minor medical clinics, but also initiatives such as “Healthier 901” - which is just one example of how MLH is invested in improving every life it touches. I can’t wait to tell the exciting stories coming out of this amazing healthcare system every day!

My last day on ABC24 will be March 19th. Again, thank you for allowing me into your homes each night. Your support has meant so much!

While an official announcement is coming soon, I wanted to thank all of you who’ve supported my dedication to and passion for good journalism. Thank you for trusting me to tell your stories — it has been my greatest honor to inform and connect with this incredible community. Your unwavering loyalty and trust over the years has meant everything to me.

More than 30 years in this business has allowed me to tell heartwarming stories, cover hurricanes, expose corruption, and even interview a sitting president in the White House. I helped Memphians to Pass It On and told owners of dirty restaurants to CLEAN UP! What a ride it’s been and I am full of gratitude. 

I’ve also had the honor of working with some of the best in the business. True professionals committed to the standards good journalism demands who often don’t get enough credit for delivering the news to you despite the many challenges facing local news.

Thank you for inviting me into your homes every night. I’ll still be on ABC 24 through most of next month, and then it’s on to my next adventure. It’s time.

What a great Christmas break for us, with lots of driving to see lots of family! Started in Athens, GA, then St Augustine, FL to see the two grandsons (3 yrs old & 3 mos old) then Tampa to see more family (Mom, cousins and Aunt DD) and winding up in Orlando before coming home to Memphis. Can’t wait for what 2025 has in store!
