Thank you, Sorors, for thinking of me and inviting me to speak on the “Importance of Resumes.” It was truly an honor to pour into the next generation and share tools that will help them step confidently into their future.
I hope each student walked away with valuable insight, motivation, and the understanding that their story, skills, and experiences matter on paper and beyond!

Question: What has your career experience been as a woman navigating Corporate America?
My response: My career has required business suits, composure, and minimal outward expression. As a woman, sitting in boardrooms, conference rooms, and virtual meetings often means meeting unspoken standards to earn respect and secure a seat at the table. Having a voice as a Black woman carries an undefined pressure until you learn how to navigate the game. Even at the executive level, expectations around how you present yourself remain. Yet, I’ve noticed that women still find ways to express themselves through style—and I love that for us.

Pastor Elect Yancey delivered a powerful word on the final Sunday of 2025, and it truly blessed us all
There’s a Promise on the Other Side of Your Wilderness
Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:2
“And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that He might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.”
⸻
As we come to the close of 2025, it’s important that we do the same.
First, reflect on 2025.
God was with you every step of the way—even in the wilderness moments.
Second, prepare for 2026.
Ask yourself: What areas of my life need growth, adjustment, or greater discipline?
Third, expect the promise on the other side of your wilderness.
Your promise is tied to obedience—and obedience always comes with instructions.
God required Israel to walk in complete obedience. He didn’t just give them a destination; He gave them directions. Yet too often, our struggle is not with hearing God—it’s with following instructions.
When instructions are ignored or mishandled, there is a risk of mismanaging the very gift God is preparing to give.
So don’t mishandle your journey through the wilderness. Pay attention to the process. Follow the instructions. Remain obedient.
Because there is a promise waiting for you—
and it’s on the other side of your wilderness.

Pastor Elect Yancey preached a phenomenal word today — real, relevant, and right on time.
After teaching four parables — the Farmer Scattering Seed, the Lamp, the Growing Seed, and the Mustard Seed — Jesus invited the disciples into a promise: “Let’s cross to the other side.”
Don’t forget God’s promise to you.
We often forget His promise when circumstances don’t match our expectations. Sometimes God leads us into places that don’t look like what He promised.
On the way to the other side, a fierce storm arose (Mark 4:37). What was once a peaceful view shifted into panic as water began filling the boat. Fear made them forget the promise, but they still remembered their Promise Keeper.
Jesus slept through the storm until they cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” (v.38)
But the promise was to cross over, not to drown.
Jesus rose, rebuked the wind, and spoke to the waves: “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly everything became calm.
You must speak to your storm to find peace in it.
Then Jesus asked, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (v.40)
God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7).
“Who is this man?” the disciples asked, amazed that even the wind and waves obeyed Him (v.41).
Who is this man?
• Cancer obeys Him
• Poverty obeys Him
• Suicidal thoughts obey Him
• Grief obeys Him
His Name is Jesus.
At His name every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord!
I absolutely love results!!!
