This is how I feel about Sendai. 💙
My first trip to the region of Japan was out of this world. I’m reveling in all of my experiences and appreciating friendships new and old. 🦋
Sendai is now one of my favorite places I’ve been to in Japan, and I’m excited to share info on the region as well as insights on living outside of Tokyo!
Check out my latest YT video to whet your appetite for upcoming Sendai content . . . and to put on while walking on the treadmill!

There was ice cream in this cone ...
The spirulina almond milk ice cream was incredible!! 😍 After being out all day the blue color caught my eye and pulled me in. I’m practicing flexible diet management as a part of my challenge, and it felt pretty awesome to be able to enjoy such a treat without feeling like I’m “getting off track”. Perfect way to end a socially distant day out on the town. 😉
Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to eat by yourself, see a movie by yourself, or go on adventures by yourself! My mom taught me this at a young age, and it’s a true gift. While I love being with my friends and family, doing things by yourself is a unique experience. You are you without the influence of your peers. This opens up the opportunity for better self understanding, self-confidence, and new experiences. You also never know what friends and connections you’ll make along the way! ☺️
See more of this amazing blue ice dream, the newly reopened , and other adventures in Tokyo in my latest YT video! Link in bio !✨📽🍦💕

And then one day she discovered that she was fierce,
and strong,
and full of fire,
and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.
- Mark Anthony
The day I decided to live out of what I love instead of what I fear was one of the best days of my life. Even though I’ve made a commitment to this, I still have to make the choice daily to love and nurture my passions, goals, and full self.
Today I’m sending extra light and fierceness your way to remind you that you are already enough and are awesome! Go on with your bad self. 😉
What is the most recent thing that made you feel strong and capable? Let me know in the comments! Also, please be sure to watch my latest YT video! I’ll be posting EVERY SUNDAY starting July 5th! ✨📽💃🏽

Simple steps can make all the difference. One thing I aim to share through S.A.Certianly is the importance of creating systems to achieve goals. ✨
Reaching a goal doesn’t happen with desire and determination alone. To achieve sustainable progress and ultimately achieve your goals, you need to figure out and establish systems that work best for YOU, or the situation at hand, and allow you to bring you goals and dreams to life. 🤩🌏
If this sounds intimidating… hold your horses. 🐴🏇🏽🎠 Setting up systems for success doesn’t mean you have to overhaul your entire life overnight. You can start simply.
For example, a goal of mine is to regularly take more pictures while exploring. 📸 My system to make this happen involves three main components:
1. Having a beauty and style routine that makes me feel confident. 💋👗(More on how I have done this in an upcoming post and YT video!📽)
2. Making sure I have storage on my phone and camera! (The feeling of being in a beautiful location and taking one picture before I have to figure out what to delete... 😤)
3. HAVING MY TRIPOD NEAR THE DOOR.
The third component is in caps for a reason. This simple act of preparing and keeping my tripod in an accessible area has been a game changer and now allows me to easily hop out the door and take pictures like this. ☺️
Now that I have a system in place, I can accomplish not just this goal but be ready to achieve other goals! Building off of my initial photography goal, I now want to experiment regularly so I can take higher quality and more interesting pictures.
What goals do you have that could use sustainable systems? Let me know in the comments! ✨

Strength is beauty.
✨💕✨
I often get questions from my friends and other women about my fitness routine and strength training. I hear concerns ranging from not knowing where to start to being intimidated at the gym to worrying about looking “bulky”. I’ve had a variety of my own concerns on my health and fitness journey, but I LOVE my muscles and what they allow me to do. ☺️✨
Strength training is one of the best things you can do, not just for your fitness goals but for your overall health! It also comes in many forms. You can work your muscles in different ways including lifting weights at the gym (or home gym), using your body weight, and practicing yoga. I love taking my training and yoga sessions outside. The added Vitamin D is spectacular. 😎☀️

................. We are BLACK WOMEN!..... We build .... We don’t tear down other BLACK WOMEN.... We have felt the pain of being torn down and we have decided we will be deliberate about building others! If I didn’t tag you please don’t be offended. I tried to pick people I thought would do this challenge!! All too often, we WOMEN find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let’s do something positive!!🌸Upload 1 picture of yourself...ONLY you. Then tag as many SISTERS to do the same. Let’s build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down. Copy and paste the caption!

Shoutout to ! A little while ago she posted about how to be alone abroad, and one thing she mentioned was something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Yesterday I finally went for a walk, tripod in tow, and took pictures of myself! Even though I’m getting use to vlogging (i.e. talking and walking in public), I have been hesitant to just try taking pictures of myself.
Turns out, it was a lot of fun, and I’m hooked! With everything that is happening in the world, I’ve been feeling a lot of ways. On top of that, it’s been overcast for most of the past couple weeks. However, I knew something needed to change, and when I saw how beautiful and sunny it was, I was certain it was my time to shine! ☀️
Everyone, take care of yourself. Your health and the changes that need to be made are for the long term.
Look forward to more self portraits of me out and about. 🥳
