Not for the potential.
Not for history.
Nor for the feelings that come with confusion.
Sometimes choosing yourself looks like walking away from something you really wanted. And that’s the part people don’t talk about enough.
If you’re visiting Memphis and want a mix of live music, classic Southern food, and a fun Beale street atmosphere
… B.B. King’s Blues Club is worth adding to your list.
Not every restaurant in a touristy area is actually worth it tho, but this one was.
The ribs were actually fall-off-the-bone good, I’d say 1000/10 😌. The portions were solid, and having live music while eating just made the whole experience so cool.
It’s one of those places that feels a little iconic while still being genuinely enjoyable.
If Memphis is on your list, I’d absolutely recommend adding this to your itinerary.
And if you want my full Memphis guide (where to eat, what to do, and what’s actually worth your money), comment GUIDE and I’ll send it.

Here are 4 things you can’t skip in Memphis
1. Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul MuseumThe full story of how this city changed music forever. Soul, blues, rock and roll… it all started here.
2. National Civil Rights MuseumOne of the most powerful places I’ve ever been. It’s built around the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968.
3. BB King's Blues Club on Beale StreetLive music, good food, and an atmosphere that feels like the soul of Memphis in one room. The kind of place you walk out of and immediately want to tell someone about 🤭
4. Beale StreetLive music, energy, and that classic Memphis vibe. It really comes alive at night.
Memphis doesn't get the flowers it deserves… but once you experience it, you’ll understand what I mean.
Save this for your Memphis trip.

Okay… now this is where people might disagree with me 😭
Not every “must-try” spot in Memphis was worth it for me.
Some were overhyped, while some were actually really good.
And that’s kinda the reality of traveling, you don’t know until you try it yourself.
If you’re planning a trip and want a real mix of what’s worth it and what’s not, this is the honest version.
For anyone building a Memphis travel guide, looking for best places to eat in Memphis, or figuring out what to do in Memphis, hopefully this helps you skip a few misses.
Save this so you don’t forget.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally take that trip… this is it.
A lot of people want to travel, but don’t always have someone to go with. And it ends up being the reason it keeps getting pushed to “later.”
That’s exactly why I started hosting these trips.
So you don’t have to wait on anyone,
and you don’t have to plan everything yourself.
I’m taking a small group to Egypt 🇪🇬 this October
Think:
– seeing the Pyramids in real life
– sailing on the Nile at sunset
– exploring temples, markets, and local spots you wouldn't find on your own
– meeting like-minded people and making real friendships
Most people come solo… and that’s what makes it so easy to connect. Because you’re all there for the same reason
And no, you don’t have to figure everything out.
Everything is already planned.
The logistics are handled.
You just show up and experience it.
If you’ve been saying “one day”… this might be the moment.
P.S. We’re keeping this group intimate to make sure everyone gets direct support, so grab your seat before the doors close.

I tried two of the most talked-about spots in Memphis… and had very different experiences.
Starting with the win, BB King’s Blues Club on Beale Street:
The food was AMAZING! Live music, energy, the whole experience just felt very Memphis. Totally worth it.
Now the one I wish I could take back 😬
The Arcade Restaurant: Look, I wanted to love it. It’s one of the oldest restaurants in Memphis and it has history. But the food just didn’t match the hype for me.
Maybe I ordered wrong. Or maybe I caught them on an off day. But based on my experience I’d skip it and spend that money somewhere else.
Memphis really has incredible food, but not every “famous” spot is going to hit the same for everyone.
Some are better in itinerary than in reality if you ask me 🥴
Tell me if it was the same for you or I missed something
I went on 7 dates in one day (I thought it was going to be 9) and after we got to decided if we wanted to march , just be friend or nothing to do with them
This was set up by .dating and I honestly loved that we got to pick what we wanted out of each date after we left.
If helped ease the pressure of the dates and made everything a lot more chill.
I selected 3 friends but only ended up matching with 1
Would you try speed dating?
→ The Green Beetle - Memphis’ oldest bar, open since 1939.
→ Peabody Ducks march - a Memphis tradition I wouldn’t want you to miss it’s cute
→ Crazy Gander Coffee - a hidden gem kind of spot. Great coffee
→ Beauty Shop - a unique breakfast spot with history behind it.
→ The Memphis Music Hall of Fame - here you’ll explore the full story of how Memphis shaped the sound of the world.
Somewhere in between all of that, you’d really understand why I like this city the way I do.
Memphis isn’t loud about what it offers, but when you experience it the right way, it’s perfect!
Save this for your Memphis trip.

But the energy? The crowd?
The entertainment in between?
It’s a full experience.
I was surprised that even thou they were out of the playoffs they still went full force and it was a buzzer be**er!
And for the price?
100% worth it.
If you’re planning a trip and thinking about going to an NBA game, don’t overthink it. Especially if your solo as after the museums close it’s the perfect little activity
Even the cheaper seats still give you the full vibe. I booked on ticket
Would you go to an NBA game for $40? 👀

Solo travel sounds fun but it comes with a lot of learning too… and realizing no one tells you the little things that would’ve made it so much easier..
Most of what I’ve learned didn’t come from guides… it came from being there & figuring it out in real time.
Making small mistakes. Or big ones like missing my flight 🤦🏼♀️ and honestly, that’s the part that makes solo travel what it is.
You learn how to trust yourself more.
And enjoy your own company in a way you probably didn’t expect.
And if you’ve traveled solo before, what’s one thing you learned that no one told you?
Nervous to travel solo? Don’t worry I am running a group trip and you can join! Info 🔗
