Tax Filing Start 2/12/2021

If you have not received your stimulus, please do not file your return until you are aware of whether you are receiving a check or not.

We advise you to wait until at least 1/18 to file your return.

Only if you have all w2s, received BOTH stimulus in the right amount, should you be thinking about filing now.

*remember you can elect to use your 2019 earned income amount to figure your EIC and CTC for this year. We are asking all new clients to bring/upload a copy of last years tax return when they file with us.

Tax Tips 103:

New this year is the option to use prior year income amounts when computing the Earned Income Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit.
The IRS has not yet announced a start date for filing the 2020 tax return. You can have your taxes prepared as soon as you receive all your information and it can be held until it can be filed electronically with the IRS.
If you didn’t receive the Economic Impact Payments and you are eligible to receive them, you can claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your tax return.
