Nurses are scientists. Do you agree?
A scientist is someone who observes, assesses, collects data, interprets findings, makes evidence-based decisions, tests interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
Nurses engage in these activities every day. They assess patients (data collection), form clinical judgments, implement interventions, evaluate patient responses, adjust care plans as needed, and document their findings.
We combine evidence-based practice, critical thinking, human connection, ethical judgment, and spiritual discernment in our work.
We are truly amazing!

Honoring Freedom. Advancing Care for All.
Juneteenth marks the day, June 19, 1865 when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas finally received word that they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
For nurses, this day carries a deeper call:
to remember the resilience of those who came before us and to recommit ourselves to caring for every person with equity, dignity, and humanity.
Nursing has always been rooted in service, advocacy, and compassion. And on Juneteenth, we honor the Black nurses, caregivers, and healers whose contributions shaped our profession even when history tried to erase them. Their legacy reminds us that freedom is not just a moment in history; it is a responsibility we carry forward in how we care for others.
Because nursing is more than a profession.
It is purpose.
It is service.
It is the daily work of building a more just and compassionate world.
