One of the band members of the Austin trio has strong ties to the situation in Ukraine. I felt that telling this story was an important stand alone piece.

The unofficial“End of Summer” came and went this weekend. Reflecting back on what I have accomplished over this past year and on the road, I feel a sense of gratitude for what has been done so far.
Many of you know that filming is not my “day job,” even though I sincerely wish it was. There was a great opportunity at a company that I took after I got back from the road. This has proved both challenging and rewarding. However, this new position along with volunteering time to help my Louisiana friends in the wake of Ida, my project has taken a back seat for now.
Never you fear! I am aiming for the first interview to come out by the middle of October. With any luck, it will be sooner! For now, “adulting” has become an all-consuming aspect of my life. I am thankful that video footage does not have an expiration date on it!
There will be more updates as my schedule permits. A huge, HUGE thank you to all that have contained to support this project. The words of encouragement have kept me going through the adventure that is life.

Busy week back in the world of the mortgage industry! I started a new job with some pretty amazing folks! But I also got a stomach bug! Boooo! But while hanging out in bed, between sleeping, I worked on a couple things! First one out the gate is Shelia and Christine. A mother/daughter duo that will give you giggles while giving you almost 100 years of Appalachian family history.

Earlier this year I completed a documentary showcasing Mardi Gras in the face of the pandemic. After receiving feedback and encouragement, I will begin filming more segments to the series. Centered around Hoodoo, Root Work, Folk Magic, and Plant Medicine from the Swamp to the Appalachian mountains. Delving into the backgrounds of each interviewee with a great deal of curiosity and excitement! Updates from the road will be posted. Here is to taking that leap of faith!
