Yshay Fuller, a 33-year-old Montessori teacher at Caughman Road Elementary School in South Carolina, was arrested inside her classroom while school was in session on May 19. The arrest came after investigators linked her to a runaway teenager who had been reported missing since May 8.

A 911 caller tipped off authorities on May 10 saying Fuller was keeping the teen at her home without the father's permission. Deputies responded but didn't find the child during their visit. Fuller wasn't forthcoming about what she knew or where the teenager was. The minor returned home later that evening on her own.

Fuller was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstructing justice, and neglect by a legal guardian. She was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $20,000 bond and released Thursday. She must stay at least 1,000 yards from the teen with no contact allowed.

Richland School District One sent a letter to parents confirming the arrest and stating the incident was unrelated to school operations. It remains unclear how Fuller knows the teenager or whether she has been suspended or terminated.

7 year old Jor’Dynn Duncan had been placed in the custody of Emily Kelly, the fiancée of her father Derrick Dixon, by Child Protective Services before prosecutors say she endured months of horrific abuse inside a Long Island home.

Authorities announced charges against 50 year old Emily Kelly, 75 year old Barbara Renner, and 24 year old Elyssa Seymore after investigators alleged Jor’Dynn suffered around 90 stab and sharp force injuries over time, developed a massive untreated infection, and missed more than 40 days of school before she was eventually found in cardiac arrest and pronounced dead at the hospital in December 2025.

Emily Kelly has been charged with second degree murder and other offences, while Barbara Renner faces manslaughter charges and Elyssa Seymore has been charged with unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment offences.

Jor’Dynn’s biological parents were identified as Portia Duncan and Derrick Dixon.
