I haven't had many projects lately, however i’m still designing new things, and mostly giving new life to old things! I have found myself very passionate about the fashion industry and the harm it’s been causing to the environment.

With fast fashion having such high demand, and the materials being overwhelmingly plastic based. Trucks full of clothing being dumped in landfills or burned, and less than 1% of clothing being recycled. I am finding myself going “how can I make a difference?”

I’ve started thinking about how my design work can create a positive impact, or at least not contribute to the waste the fashion industry is currently creating. I already source many of my pieces from thrift stores and repair my clothing. I have found love in Upcycling worn out clothing, creating new life for garments.

As a costume designer, this can be especially challenging. Many people think of costumes as “one and done” especially when things like spirit make getting cheaply made costumes that don't last so accessible. I’m going to keep trying to change that.
