So, I was walking my two little dogs in downtown Medford.  I saw some trash on the ground, so in my usual fashion I picked it up and went to throw it in this dumpster off the parking lot of the Chinese restaurant.  As I got close to the dumpster, within 20-30 feet, the dumpster lid suddenly flew open on its own accord.  As I stared confused at how a dumpster lid could open on its own, this Phoenix from hell emerged.  She rose from the depths and sat cross legged, floating above the dumpster.  She saw me coming towards, trash in hand, and in a low pitched gravelly voice said, “Hey….you’re not going to throw that in here are you.” I said, “Well ma’am, uh, yeah I was planning on it, because you know, it’s a dumpster.” I stood frightened and out of what appeared to be the case, I said, “I’m sorry ma’am, but do you live in there?”  She stared back at me with black eyes and pocked face and as a semi truck rolls over gravel, she exclaimed, “Nooooo.” Then she sank back into the dumpster and I took off down the road, Chihuahuas in tow, never looking back and never to return to that spot again.  Two weeks later I was riding my bike on the bear creek greenway, coming back into Medford, the spot where the path snakes beneath the I-5.  I could see a group of “residents” up ahead, draped across the greenway, all staring at the ground. They looked terrified.  Now having never seen a single tweaker look scared (that stuff gives you the utmost confidence), I got off my bike and started walking into the fray.  As I got closer I heard what sounded like two cats fighting.  A bit closer and it sounded like King Kong and Godzilla had made babies and those babies were trying to eat each other.  Except when I really came upon the scene I didn’t see any King Kong Godzilla babies.  What I saw was Pam’s giant butt protruding from a tent and she was going absolute ham on this lady on the other side.  The sounds coming out of her were the most disgusting, horrifying, evil, beautiful, glorious, perfect sounds I’ve ever heard in my life.  So of course, I immediately rode home and wrote this song for her.

Made it to Portland!!!! House concert time, baby!! L*z GO 🍻
