Public speaking still lights up my nervous system—even when I’m excited to talk about sustainable design 🌱

Before going live, I took a quiet moment to ground myself with Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing)—a pranayama practice I’ve been leaning on all month. It gently brought me back into my body, slowed my breath, and reminded my nervous system that I was safe.

If anxiety shows up for you too, here’s how to try it:

How to practice Alternate Nostril Breathing
1️⃣ Sit comfortably with a tall spine and relaxed shoulders
2️⃣ Bring your right hand up; gently close your right nostril with your thumb
3️⃣ Inhale slowly through your left nostril
4️⃣ Close the left nostril with your ring finger, release the thumb
5️⃣ Exhale slowly through the right nostril
6️⃣ Inhale through the right nostril
7️⃣ Switch again and exhale through the left nostril
🔁 Repeat for 3–5 minutes, keeping the breath smooth and unforced

A few rounds can be all it takes to shift from spiraling → steady.
Breath by breath, we find our ground 🤍
