Crews from multiple Orange County fire departments came together to train on fireground tactics and water haul operations in preparation for future emergency incidents throughout our communities.
Training together is one of the most important ways we prepare for the challenges we may face on the fireground. Multi-company and multi-department training strengthens communication, coordination, and teamwork while allowing crews to practice operating efficiently alongside one another before an actual emergency occurs. Water haul operations are especially important in areas without hydrant access, making these hands-on training opportunities critical for maintaining safe and effective fire protection.
A huge thank you to New Hope Fire Department for hosting this valuable training opportunity, and thank you to all of the Orange County departments that participated. We appreciate the dedication and commitment shown by everyone involved as we continue working together to better serve and protect our communities.

A huge thank you to Lowe's Home Improvement in Mebane for their generous donation of a new grill to the Mebane Fire Department!
Our firefighters spend 24-hour shifts at the station, away from their families and ready to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice. While serving the community is our top priority, cooking and sharing meals together is an important part of station life. These meals help build teamwork, strengthen relationships, and create the trust that firefighters depend on when responding to emergencies.
This new grill will give our members another way to prepare meals together and continue a tradition that helps make the firehouse feel like a second home.
Thank you, Lowe’s Hardware in Mebane, for supporting our firefighters and investing in the well-being of those who serve our community every day!

Take a look at our new Engine 4!
This engine was designed by our department members to be functional and meet our needs for the future:
- Shorter wheelbase
- Side mount pump
- Low hose bed, making it easier and safer for firefighters to access the tools they need
The truck will come back to get equipped before you see it on the road this Summer!
Thanks First Choice Fire and Safety Inc. and Sutphen Corporation!

This is a reminder that the statewide burn ban remains in place, and all open burning is prohibited at this time. With little rainfall or improvement expected in the next 7-10 days, the ban will continue until further notice.
These restrictions are in place due to increased fire risk and to help keep our community safe. We appreciate your cooperation and encourage everyone to remain vigilant. Even small fires can quickly get out of control under current conditions.
If you see smoke or fire, please call 911 immediately.
Stay safe, Mebane! 🚒
