Kinder House

Kinder House will NOT be opening registration for the 2023-2024 school year. I am expecting a new baby and plan to take maternity leave next year.

Early education is my passion, so without a doubt I will be back at some point in the future. No details yet on the timeline.

This program has been the most rewarding experience. It has enabled me to share my vision and philosophy for early learning, and has challenged me to grow as an educator in all the best ways. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to make this dream a successful reality and for all the amazing families I’ve connected with in my community. Thank you for choosing me and trusting me with your precious preschoolers.

Still available for occasional babysitting and elementary tutoring by appointment.

We had a ton of fun making these bat puppets from Highlights for Children.

Mmmmm strawberries 🍓

I adore gardening with kids, especially when the results are so delicious. We all learned a ton about strawberries this year, so let me drop some of our newly acquired knowledge on ya.🍓🥸

There are two main varieties of strawberries: June-bearing and ever-bearing. Like their names imply, June-bearing plants mostly fruit in the beginning of summer. Ever-bearings have a longer growing season, which is how we’re enjoying fresh, home grown strawberries for snack today. 🤗

Strawberry plants produce good fruit for a few years, but each plant will grow new runners or “sister” plants every year. Super cool tip: catch the runners in little pots. You’ll have a new supply of strawberry plants and keep your beds from becoming overcrowded.

We’ve been waiting (semi-)patiently for this beauty, and it’s finally watermelon day! 🍉

Did you know you can train a watermelon vine to climb a trellis or a fence? Being off the ground helps prevent the melon from rotting and keeps away pests. When the fruit gets heavy, we use pantyhose to fashion a little melon hammock. The fabric stretches as the watermelon grows and the hammock supports the weight.

So this baby has been chilling in a hammock all summer and it made the BEST late summer snack.🍉😋
