You know what? We are not above borrowing a great idea. So when our friends at Butler County Emergency Communications posted this today - we liked it. And then they told us that they actually borrowed the idea from Lyon County Emergency Communications Center - and that just sealed it. Its a great way to celebrate, so we will be following suit during National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week Sunday, April 10th – Saturday, April 16th, 2022. This week is set aside each year to honor the men and women of 9-1-1 who serve our community.
The dispatchers at McPherson County are an amazing bunch! We would like to offer the community the opportunity to get in on celebrating those less-recognized in the responder family. Every year, during this magical week, we get recognized for the job we do every day. In the past, we've received food, cookies, food, chips, food, snacks, and food.
This year, consider “Adopting a Dispatcher”. This is a special way for the community to thank each individual for the work that they do. Appreciation can be shown by handwritten notes or cards, small gift cards, or gift baskets. (Seriously, you don't have to purchase ANYTHING. We absolutely LOVE handwritten notes and oooooooo.... when kids give us art! THAT IS JUST THE BEST!!!)
We are excited to see how creative our community can be! Adopting a Dispatcher is ideal for individual families, work/office professionals, church groups, friend groups, or anyone else who would like to participate. Here is how you can participate. McPherson County 911 has 14 dispatchers on staff. If you have a specific dispatcher that you would like to adopt, or if you would just like a name, or a specific shift, send us a message here on Facebook. In your message, please tell us who you are, what organization you/your group are from (if any), and how many dispatchers you’d like to adopt.
During the week of April 10th - 16th, your care packages can be mailed to or dropped off at our center at 1177 W Woodside, McPherson, KS. If choosing drop-off, please message or call 620-245-1266 prior to arrange a time so we can be sure to watch for you.
We say it every year, but McPherson County citizens are second to none, and we thank you for the opportunity to work for you!

Okay y’all, so I know there’s some confusion of another baker and I in town. Since I never did a formal introduction I figured I would now!
My name’s Chad Mock. I am the Owner/Operator of The Pink Flamingo. I started The Pink Flamingo in November of 2020. I honestly started because I wanted to make people happy. I want people to step foot in my shop and feel happy and loved. I wanted to provide a space for everyone to feel included.
I am not originally from McPherson, I’m from Savannah, GA. I love all aspects of the hospitality industry! I placed 1st in the state of Georgia for Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation through FCCLA in 2012 and 2nd in the nation in 2013! In my competitive spirit I also competed in Restaurant Service in 2011 placed 3rd in the state, then 2nd in the state in 2012. I have a genuine passion for people and I hope my customers always know I’m willing to go above and beyond to the best of my abilities!
I am a workaholic! I love working. I love the opportunity to meet new people. If I am not working, then you can more than likely find me out wandering around Kansas. Kansas has so many hidden gems I don’t think people realize!
That’s a little about me! Feel free to stop in and say hi I love when people just visit! If you have any questions you’re always welcome to ask!
Don’t forget the fundraiser for Tucker is at Freddy’s tonight from 5 to 9!
I love that people see flamingos and think of my store! One of my customers gave me these today!
Hello My Friends!
McPherson Area Friends: Freddy’s will be doing a be a fundraiser tomorrow from 5 to 9 for Tucker.
Is this what dreams are made of? Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Buttercream, Hollow Chocolate Balls, an Aero Bar, a Time-Out Bar, some Curly Whrlys, Chocolate Covered Cookie Dough, Seattle Chocolate Bar all on top of a chocolate ganache topped with crushed Oreos!
Happy Saturday my friends!
I know I’ve asked before and I’m going to ask again, please no social media orders. I’m predominantly a one man show and it simplifies things by you calling 620-718-2135 or by coming in. I’m not always around my book and I want to make sure I have everything wrote down and small details are taken care of. I work a second job on top of owning my own store so I’m constantly busy and want to make sure I have satisfied customers! Thank y’all for understanding!
Okay y‘all a few questions:
With Easter quickly approaching:
1. If I did the Chocolate Edible Cookie dough Easter eggs like I did last year would there be any interest? Or I can do my peanut butter filling.
2. The Easter basket bar worked great last year, but what did yall like or not like about it?
3. If I did some in house chocolate rabbits would there be interest? I know they would cost more, but the quality of chocolate isnt cheap.
4. If I tried to setup a jar or something to possibly help some lower income families get some Easter baskets would you consider donating to it? I want those kids to get Easter Baskets as well and I know times are rough for everyone. Especially with everything going up. Then, if so who would be the contacts at the elementary schools who may help facilitate this.
Dreaming of spring with flowers… We may not have that yet, but cupcakes are the next best thing
Don't miss out this Saturday! We will be contributing a couple of items towards the raffle. Help support show your support for Tucker!
Thank you for the order!
P.S. all the roses I made out of fondant!
Thank you for the gifts! If anyone wants to get rid of their flamingos we are a great place for them!
Thank you for the order!!

Is anyone else dreaming of warm, spring days yet?
Okay y’all so I’ve had two people all day I’m assuming with the weather no one wants to get out so I’m going to call it a day. Sorry for any inconvenience! Hopefully tomorrow and the weekend will be better!
