Celebrating the next generation of Reston scholars 🎓✨

Last week, the Reston Scholarship Fund community came together to honor outstanding South Lakes High School seniors as they were awarded scholarships supporting their journey to Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.

Each award helps bridge the gap and open doors to brighter futures.

We’re proud to celebrate this year’s recipients and grateful to the fund advisors and this year's Gala honorees, Gil & Liz Blankespoor, the donors and community partners who make this impact possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Community Impact Celebration—we’re so grateful to have spent the evening surrounded by students, nonprofit partners, and community leaders who are making a real difference across Northern Virginia.

From welcoming refreshments and student award photos to an inspiring live recording of the We’re Good Podcast, the evening was filled with meaningful moments that highlighted the power of connection and collaboration. We closed out the program with group photos of our incredible nonprofits and students, followed by time to connect and celebrate together.

Together, we created more purpose, belonging, learning, and impact across our community. At this year’s celebration, we honored the collective power of generosity—awarding more than $1.3 million to students and nonprofits who are shaping a brighter future.

A special thank you to all who helped bring the event to life and to everyone who stayed to share in the celebration. Here’s to continuing the work of strengthening our community, together.

Celebrating 20 years of impact. 🎓

Last week, we joined the William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship community in honoring two decades of supporting Fairfax County students who have overcome adversity and are pursuing brighter futures through higher education.

You’ll notice the red theme throughout the event—red was Will's favorite color. In his honor, Renée wore a red heart, carrying a small piece of him with her as we gathered to celebrate his life and memory. Renée, shared ""I truly believe education was a game changer in my life and I know it will be a game changer for many who will receive this generous scholarship.""

One special moment came when Will's third grade teacher, now Chief of Staff at Fairfax County Public Schools, Marty Smith, brought along a red toy car Will had given him more than 20 years ago—a simple but powerful reminder of the lasting impact Will had on those around him.

We also heard from Will's mom, whose deep love and unwavering commitment to carrying forward her son's legacy was felt by everyone in the room. ❤️

Created in memory of Will Foreman, this scholarship continues to change lives by investing in resilience, determination, and opportunity.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients, and thank you to everyone helping carry this incredible legacy forward. ✨
