$158 billion pay package. $0 actually taken home.
Elon Musk just topped the WSJ's annual CEO pay ranking โ his Tesla package is valued at ~$158B, roughly 16x what all 391 other CEOs on the list made combined.
Here's the catch: It's entirely stock tied to milestones. Tesla missed its 2025 targets, so his realized pay for the year was zero. He only touches it if Tesla hits its marks over the next decade.
Headline pay and take-home pay turn out to be two very different things.
Goldman just made a record $7.4B trading stocks in a single quarter ๐
The thing is, that number isn't really about Goldman.
Trading revenue is a scoreboard for how much investors are buying. And in Q2, they couldn't get enough: semiconductors +88% (best in ~30 years) on the AI trade, Nasdaq +27.7%, S&P +15%.
The more everyone trades, the bigger Goldman's paycheck. So a record quarter for Goldman is really a record quarter for market appetite.
The real question: does that appetite hold? ๐

Someone just bought a $56 million San Francisco mansion โ and it was never listed for sale.
2898 Vallejo in Pacific Heights just traded for $56M, the city's biggest home sale since 2024. No public listing. No open house. No price online. If you weren't already in the conversation, you never knew it was available.
That's how the top of the market actually works: the priciest homes change hands off-market โ a broker quietly matching a short list of qualified buyers, long before (if ever) anything goes public.
The real luxury isn't the house. It's access to the deals nobody else can even see.
Send this to the friend who thinks they know how real estate money actually moves. ๐
A Super Mario Bros. cartridge just sold for $3 million. The same one that cost $30 in 1985. ๐
And it's not because it's rare and old โ Nintendo made tens of millions of these.
What's actually worth $3M? A sticker.
For a few weeks in early 1986, Nintendo sealed a small batch with a glossy sticker seal before switching to shrink-wrap. This is 1 of only 3 known sealed copies from that run โ graded PSA 9.6 A++.
It's now the most anyone has ever paid for a video game at public auction, beating the $2M record set byโฆ the same game in 2021.
Scarcity is what mints a true collectible.
Be honest โ did you keep your old game boxes, or did they hit the trash? ๐
"You earn the title you want."
We got Fahad and David talking about the thing every startup dances around: titles.
Fahad's gripe? People obsess over the title on the offer letter. His advice: care about equity, comp, and scope. The title's the least interesting part.
Where does our network land โ are titles overrated at startups, or do they matter more than we admit?

Blue Origin just raised $10 billion โ its first outside money in 25 years. And the timing is no accident.
For 25 years, Jeff Bezos funded it himself: ~$1B of Amazon stock a year, no investors, no board. So why open the doors now? Opportunity.
Elon Musk's SpaceX went public in a record $75B IPO โ the biggest ever โ and investors proved just how hungry they are for space. Blue Origin saw that appetite and moved to seize it: a $10B raise at a ~$130B valuation, Coatue leading ~$4B, Bezos ~$2B, institutions the rest.
This is Bezos capitalizing on the moment to keep Blue Origin in the race โ and relevant.
SpaceX proved the money's there. Blue Origin just grabbed its share. ๐
A San Francisco home listed for $7.95M. It sold for $15M โ all cash.
That's ~89% over asking โ the widest gap between list and sale for any SF home over $5M in at least 26 years.
The buyer? An anonymous LLC out of LA.
The seller? A great-great-grand-niece of Levi Strauss.
There are only ~216 single-family homes are for sale in the entire city โ down ~45% in a year. Meanwhile AI money is minting new buyers faster than the city can build.
The house didn't double in value. The competition for it did.
Would you ever go $7M over asking on a home? ๐

Michael Kim just shot one of the rarest rounds in golf. Breaking 60 has happened only 16 times in PGA Tour history, and he just did it: 12 birdies, zero bogeys, 12 under par at the 3M Open.
New to golf? A 59 is basically a perfect day at the office. Most pros never get one.
Proud to have Michael repping the Range hat out there. ๐งข
Congrats, Michael. ๐
