The conversations at this year's U.S. Department of Labor Tech Expo reinforced that government agencies are focused on moving beyond AI experimentation and delivering measurable mission outcomes.

Three themes stood out throughout the event:
• Operationalizing AI – The focus is shifting from pilots to secure, scalable AI solutions that can deliver real value across agencies.

• Modernizing the Workforce – Agencies continue to explore how AI can augment employees, streamline processes, and improve service delivery while maintaining trust and accountability.

• Mission-Driven Innovation – Success depends on combining emerging technologies with deep federal expertise to solve mission challenges securely and responsibly.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the DMI booth to share insights and discuss how we're helping agencies put AI into action. We appreciate the opportunity to connect and look forward to continuing the conversation.

A special thank you to the U.S. Department of Labor and Mangala Kuppa for hosting a great event and creating a forum for meaningful conversations around the future of government technology and innovation.

The U.S. Department of Labor Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is hosting the 2026 DOL Tech Expo on July 22 at the Frances Perkins Building in Washington, DC, bringing together federal technology leaders and industry to explore what's next in government IT.

The agenda features keynote remarks and panel discussions with leaders from the Department of Labor, Office of Management and Budget, Department of Justice, Department of the Interior, HUD, and other federal agencies. Topics include improving government service delivery, moving AI from pilot to production, and the evolving role of the federal CIO.

DMI will be on-site with our AI Accelerators on display. Moving AI from pilot to production is one of the expo's headline topics. It's also exactly what the Accelerators are built to do.

We're proud to be part of an event this important to the agencies and people it serves.

Infrastructure issues rarely start as infrastructure problems. They become operational problems.

Public sector organizations operate complex IT environments that must remain secure, reliable, and responsive to evolving demands. Aging infrastructure, fragmented systems, and increasing cybersecurity requirements can limit agility and strain operational performance.

DMI’s End-to-End IT Infrastructure Management delivers a comprehensive approach to modernizing and optimizing federal civilian environments. From network operations and cloud management to cybersecurity, service delivery, and performance monitoring, we provide integrated solutions that strengthen resilience and improve operational efficiency.

By aligning infrastructure strategy with operational priorities, DMI helps organizations enhance service delivery, reduce risk, and build scalable environments designed to support long-term modernization goals.

Data alone doesn’t create advantage.

Disconnected systems, delayed access, and inconsistent quality can slow decisions when timing matters most.

Across defense environments, the ability to connect, trust, and act on data in real time is critical to operational success. Siloed data and fragmented architectures limit visibility and reduce effectiveness.

That’s why organizations are moving toward DataOps and data fabric approaches, enabling faster integration, stronger governance, and real-time access to critical information. These capabilities help transform data into a strategic asset, improving decision speed and coordination across domains.

DMI’s DataOps and Data Fabric solutions help unify data across environments, automate pipelines, and deliver timely, trusted insights that support better outcomes.

AI is only valuable in financial environments if it can be trusted, explained, and governed.

For regulatory agencies, insight must stand up to scrutiny while supporting faster, more informed decisions across oversight, risk management, and fraud detection.

DMI’s Artificial Intelligence & Data capability helps agencies deploy secure, explainable AI with built-in governance and risk frameworks, enabling transparent, compliant, and mission-aligned intelligence.

We’ve co-authored a new blog with Amazon Web Services (AWS), for their Partner Network.

The blog tackles a problem federal agencies are already facing:
- Millions of documents.
- Millions of backlogged cases.
- Millions of forms.

It’s not a tooling issue.
It’s a scale issue.

OCR helped agencies get started.
But, does it help them scale?

In this joint deep dive, DMI and AWS show how agencies are moving beyond rule-based extraction with a modular Document AI approach built for real-world federal environments.

- Context-aware document understanding (not templates)
- Workflow-ready extraction with human validation
- Secure long-form document generation
- Deployed directly inside each agency’s AWS environment
- FedRAMP-aligned, audit-ready architecture

This isn’t about replacing systems.
It’s about reducing backlog, improving decisions, and putting teams back on mission work.

Start with DMI’s executive overview: https://hubs.la/Q04ftlDs0 to see how this approach is being applied in real-world environments.
