Dowell Middle School

A colorful and vibrant Pysanky art exhibit featuring traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs has opened at Dowell. The artworks were created by our friends at Children’s School of Folk Arts in Lviv, Ukraine.

Our Dowell Lions shined bright in today’s pep rally, featuring the band, orchestra, choir, cheerleaders, and our very own teachers! 🥳💙💛🦁

Thanks to First United Bank for teaching our 6th and 7th grade students about financial literacy and budgeting this week!

This afternoon, we celebrated our staff members with 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service in McKinnney ISD, along with our esteemed retirees! Rayshana Adams, Jerry Flemons, Gay Slade, and Heather Barr - you will be missed! Thank you for your dedication and commitment. Best wishes for all your future adventures 💙💛🦁

All medication in the clinic MUST be pick up by an adult with the exception of self-care diabetics and students who carry emergency medications.

Emergency and daily medications need to be picked up by 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 21st. Over the counter medications need to be picked up by NOON on Thursday, May 21st.

All medication not picked up by 4:00 PM on the last day of school will be immediately disposed of.

Gay Slade is our last Leading Lion for
the school year! We celebrate her 34 years of service in public education, with the last 19 being at Dowell MS! She started teaching RLA before switching over to Social Studies. We are grateful for her positive impact on thousands of students over the years! Wishing her all the best in retirement!

Yearbook Sales & Distribution

Yearbook sales are currently first come first serve until we are sold out. Students may see Mrs. Jewell in G217 or F116.

Distribution and signing is scheduled for Monday, May 18th during school. Any remaining copies will be available for purchase during this time for $50 cash or check made to Dowell MS.

Our 7th grade STEAM students took their curiosity out of the classroom and into the Perot Museum of Nature and Science today! It wasn't just a field trip; it was a deep dive into the wonders of our world and beyond. From the towering dinosaur skeletons in the Life Then and Now hall to the high-tech challenges in the Texas Instruments Engineering and Innovation lab, our future scientists, artists, and engineers saw firsthand how STEAM shapes everything around us. Thank you to our amazing STEAM sponsors and parent chaperones for attending!
