McKinney weighs another $20.87 million for Cannon Beach

McKinney City Council will consider directing $20.87 million in land-sale proceeds to the $200 million Cannon Beach resort today. The project under construction at SH 121 and Stacy Road is projected to create more than 700 jobs and open its first phase in mid-2027. Why it matters: Its surf lagoon, hotel and entertainment attractions could generate substantial tourism, employment and commercial demand in southwest McKinney.
