His church has been shut down, and he now survives through temporary labor jobs while moving from place to place to support his family. Reports indicate that another pastor arrested in the same case continues to face similar hardships.

Christian leaders and religious freedom advocates warn that broader sacrilege provisions could make believers even more vulnerable to accusations and legal pressure. The proposed legislation has sparked concern because it could increase penalties significantly, with some critics arguing that existing laws have already been misused against Christians. The situation has become part of a wider conversation about religious freedom in Punjab, where tensions surrounding Christian ministries, conversions, and allegations of sacrilege have increased in recent years. Many churches are asking for prayer for believers facing uncertainty, legal challenges, and pressure because of their faith.
