ACHA takes immense pride in Resident Councils--and for good reason! Their activism can positively impact community outcomes and help inform connections that elevate their neighbors.
Jefferson Manor's council did just this, keeping their neighbors informed and advocating on behalf of the community. Due to issues beyond all control, Jefferson Manor's Resident Council recently disbanded. Associate Resident Services Director, Kim Evans, and Service Coordinator, Lisa Baldwin, made it a point to honor and celebrate them one last time.
On behalf of the entire Allegheny County Housing Authority, deepest of thanks and gratitude to the former council members. Your dedication, tenacity, and selflessness did not go unnoticed.

The Allegheny County Housing Authority will be closed on Monday, September 1st, 2025, in observance of Labor Day.
Offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.

Great partnerships share great successes!

Today, individuals gathered at the UPMC Neighborhood Center to celebrate as the A. Philip Randolph Institute held its 56th graduation ceremony, showcasing numerous success stories. The best part for the Allegheny County Housing Authority? One of the graduates is a valued member of our community!

Congratulations to Whitney and her fellow graduates! It is truly impressive that in less than six months, you have obtained training certifications, received job offers with competitive salaries and excellent benefits, and established a savings account to assist you in saving for a home down payment while managing your rent.

Dress for Success recently hosted a stylish afternoon at Groveton Village! This pop-up event was tailored specifically for job seekers, offering residents fashionable interview attire and featuring local organizations ready to hire on the spot. Additionally, ELRC5 was present to connect job seekers with childcare resources!
