Sandhaven Performance Horses

I guess 2024 is the year that all ancient, abandoned pieces of metal from the prior owner of this property work their way to the surface to be stepped on by my horses. We had a long yearling step on what appeared to be a piece of antique (and barbaric) barbed wire
Unfortunately, the guy who feeds in the morning immediately pulled the metal out, making any determination of how deep the penetrative was impossible. Five days of treatment at the vet clinic and 2 weeks of treatment at home later, we had dodged a bullet and he was fine.
Kiki came out a few days ago to find Peacekeeper lame, with a piece of metal in his frog. Determined to be able to get decent diagnostic films, she made a wooden platform to allow 'Keeper to be comfortable until the vet could get here to go over him. Look at her genius "shoe"! Nearly a week into his treatment, he is comfortable and cranky at being confined. In another week, we'll redo the rads and check for a sequestrum. Wish us (more) luck!
