We are excited to invite you for our 5th webinar on “Pharmacogenomic testing for personalized treatment” on November 30, 2022, at 12:00 PM EST.
About this webinar:
Pharmacogenomic testing (PGx) can optimize and individualize medication therapy to each patient, removing the one-size-fits-all approach of current practice. The ability to predict patient responses to medications via genetic testing has the potential to decrease adverse side effects, reducing costs to both the patient and health care system. Occurrence of fewer side effects improves compliance, which leads to improved patient outcomes and overall provider and patient satisfaction.
Designed For
Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, fellows, residents, students and other interested health care professionals
Provided By
Absolute Genomics Laboratory
Objectives
Define pharmacogenomics and discuss clinical significance
Identify key features of pharmacogenomics as it relates to clinical validity and utility
Examine current use and barriers of pharmacogenomic testing
Interpret ethical and legal implications for clinical use
PGx testing offered at Absolute Genomics

Despite the remarkable efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, waning immunity and the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants such as Omicron represents a global health challenge. This study presents data from a study in nonhuman primates demonstrating durable protection against the Omicron BA.1 variant induced by a subunit SARS-CoV-2 vaccine comprising the receptor binding domain of the ancestral strain (RBD-Wu) on the I53-50 nanoparticle adjuvanted with AS03, which was recently authorized for use in individuals 18 years or older.

"Most people who get an RSV infection will have mild illness and will recover in a week or two. Some people, however, are more likely to develop severe RSV infection and may need to be hospitalized. Examples of severe infections include bronchiolitis (an inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia. RSV can also make chronic health problems worse. "
This time of year, many people are not only susceptible to COVID-19, but other respiratory illness as well. Anyone at any age is at risk.
