Spring Green Educational Foundation

We did it again. We visited Chillicothe Correctional and witnessed the miracles of men and their loved ones working together toward healing and connection. It is possible, we've seen it, we've experienced it. The pics below are from our May group, we can't wait to show you our newest reasons why we do this.

And just like that our family grew. Spring Green had the honor of serving another group of men, their families and loved ones in another powerful workshop focusing on healing. We're convinced more than ever, these individuals are the light that the world needs to shine.

Tomorrow night at 6 pm at Spring Green our grief group will be meeting to talk about whatever is weighing on your heart, or simply to sit in the presence of others who understand. Everyone is welcome regardless of where you are in your grief. 2319 Detroit Ave., Maumee.

It's not your fault, you didn't ask for the trauma. You weren't expecting as a child for your innocence to be stolen, yet hope still exists. You can heal, you can use your pain as a tool for your own growth, and you can trust again. It won't happen on its own, but it can happen. Choose to find your own truth, choose to change the story, choose you.

Husbands, wives and significant others, grandparents, best friends, sons, daughters, and moms and dads. They are all missed and Wednesday we had the opportunity to honor them by creating a garden for each one that held something special in it representing them. A beautiful way to continue our healing and create more memories that include them.
This Tuesday evening at 6 pm our grief group will gather online, and everyone is welcome, this is your safe space.

Brent Brown said "Of all the things trauma takes away from us, the worst is our willingness, or even our ability to be vulnerable. There's a reclaiming that has to happen." You're looking at several individuals who reclaimed who they were created to be, and thus the healing began.

The thoughts and questions we play over and over in our mind after a loss can be some of the cruelest pain we experience. We invite you to rest your mind from the torture that may be swirling inside your head. It produces suffering which never leads to healing. Pain is inevitable, suffering is replaying over and over that which we can't change. Allow yourself to feel the pain, find mercy for yourself.

Aaaaannnnd off we go! Board President Judy Carnivale and Executive Director Dawn Duhaime begin their road trip to Chillicothe, Ohio for their second healing workshop with incarcerated men and their loved ones. Let the miracles begin...

Years ago when we paved our lot, there was a lot of grumbling. Dust everywhere, cars having to park in the street, limited access to the building. It's been said change is inevitable but growth is optional. Our change has been opportunities for more growth, and we're about to do it again.
