God's love is not like human love, it is beyond our human comprehension. God's love is not a mere emotion, but the very essence of His character. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” It is God’s desire that we have a relationship with Him, and He has made the way possible by paying the price for our sins.

When we persist in prayer we begin to hear God and our hearts become aligned with His. Jesus himself in Luke 11 offered encouragement to keep seeking, trusting, and waiting on God—even when answers feel delayed. And we can come to Him as a child comes to His loving Father
Who will you pray for today?

George Matheson was a blind Scottish Minister who wrote this hymn in 1882.
He started going blind, caused by an incurable illness at the age of 20. Due to be married soon at the time of the diagnosis, when he broke the news to his fiancée, she broke of the engagement leaving him devastated. He became reliant on his sister as he navigated his new reality.
On the eve of his sister’s wedding, as his family left for the festivities he felt intense loneliness and grief at his own lost marriage opportunity, he sat down and wrote this hymn spontaneously in a few minutes. He later recorded that it felt as if God had dictated it to him.
The words reflect how one can find divine comfort in the face of hardship. May it bless you this morning.

During our worship on Sunday we were encouraged to think about how water is essential for life. How quickly the grass dries out and the flowers wither when the sun beats down, or there just is no rain. Our environment become drab, and brown. BUT when the rain comes, our environment becomes fresh, new, green and alive again!
So it is with our spiritual walk... when we go to the Word, when we worship and pray, Jesus, the living water, rejuvenates our spirit far beyond what rainfall can do for our surroundings.
