Nine months ago, she was this small.

Swaddled, peaceful, and only days into the world.

It goes fast.

If you’re expecting and hoping to remember your baby this small, the best time to begin planning your newborn session is during pregnancy.

The smallest shift in perspective can reveal an entirely new portrait.

In the first image, we see his whole face — the gentle curve of his brows, the softness of his hairline, the way his lips relax into what almost feels like a smile.

The blanket fades quietly into the background and the light feathers across his face so your eye settles exactly where it should… on him.

Then I move just slightly to his side.

And suddenly the image becomes something different.

Now we see the delicate line of his profile, the shape of his button nose, the gentle swirl of hair along his crown.

Two images.
One small movement.

Because newborn portraiture isn’t only about photographing a baby — it’s about noticing the fleeting details that will change before you even realize they’re gone.

And preserving them thoughtfully, while they are still this small.

These early days move quickly, but during a newborn session we intentionally pause long enough to preserve them beautifully.
