Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate Father's Day weekend?

Join us this Saturday, June 20 for Wetland Restoration Day at Moorhen Marsh!
Help restore this special habitat by removing invasive plants, planting native species, and learning about the fascinating California sneezeweed (don't worry—it won't make you sneeze!). Participants will even have the opportunity to take home a sneezeweed plant of their own.

Whether you come with Dad, bring the whole family, or simply enjoy spending time outdoors with your community, we'd love to have you join us.

Each year, Tk - 5th grade Martinez Unified School District elementary students receive a hands-on Eco-Lit lessons from NLC, sponsored by the City of Martinez and Republic Services ( Services). These activities focus on the health of our watershed and the effects of human impacts and why and how to reduce and properly sort waste. This year's 5th grade students created PSAs addressing the dangers plastic pollution has on the health of our ecosystems. We wanted to give a shout-out to these future environmental stewards from Morello Park Elementary(Morello Park Elementary PTA)!

Our team here at New Leaf Collaborative is gearing up for another joyful season of EcoKids Summer Workshops! 🌱☀️ This year we’re offering 4‑day sessions for incoming 2nd–6th graders and our brand‑new EcoKids Leadership Workshops for youth entering 7th–9th grades, all featuring hands‑on, curiosity‑driven activities that inspire young learners to explore, create, and care for the world around them.

Sessions are limited, they are filling quickly, so now is the perfect time to secure your student’s spot!

A heartfelt thank you to the 22 amazing volunteers who joined us for our Garden Restoration Day!

With support from the Martinez Community Foundation, this event—part of the Meet Me Martinez Native Flora Education Initiative—brought together a wonderful mix of community members, Alhambra High School students, local families, Climate Action Committee fellows, and volunteers from Martinez Refining Company. Together, you helped restore and replant our native garden space at the MUSD Community Garden, making a lasting impact on our local environment.

A special thank you to Sierra Reinertson and our partners at for sharing their knowledge and helping make the day so meaningful. We’re so grateful for this community and the energy you bring to the garden!

Join us on Saturday, April 25 for a Native Garden Restoration Day at the MUSD Community garden! Come spend time outdoors with us as we plant locally adapted plants, paint garden signs, and learn how these plants support pollinators, conserve water, and strengthen our ecosystem.

We’re excited to partner with , who will be on-site sharing their knowledge about the benefits of plants that belong in our region.

This event is part of the Meet Me Martinez Native Plant Educational Initiative and is a New Leaf Collaborative program in partnership with the Carquinez Regional Environmental Education Center.

All ages welcome—come get your hands dirty and help our garden grow!
