Guest teacher, Mr. Alee, led the second grade students today in a learning expedition about the Mars Rover, Perseverance. They demonstrated their learning by completing a digital color-by-numbers activity in Google Slides.

First grade learners took part in a scientific investigation to discover which paper column could hold the most books before toppling over! First they made an estimate, then we stacked the books to find the exact answer. After seeing pictures of the Colosseum, it was no surprise that the circle column held the most weight!

First graders took turns “coding” each other through the grid to reach the giant sea shell. They had to avoid the obstacles along the way! We used the book, How to Code a Sandcastle, as our inspiration. How will you celebrate this week?

Mrs. Freeman’s PreK class listened to the story, Beekle: the Unimaginary Friend, by Dan Santat. Then they each designed their own “friend” using Crayola model magic, and lots of creativity!

Kindergarten kiddos rotated through “creation stations” this morning. Some of their innovations include a K’nex water wheel and a Lego model of Augusta Country Club!

Fourth-graders listened to the first few pages of Aliens Are Coming, then settled in to listen to a bit of the original 1938 broadcast of the War of the Worlds. They were so relieved to find out it was just a radio play!
