We are the Cavadini Family and we manage a small piece of land in Central Wisconsin where our beef cattle roam pastures year-round.

Our farm is a place to steward the gifts of faith, family, our natural resources, communities, and good food.

The rain is currently hitting the windows, but at least we got to enjoy a couple hours of nice spring weather this morning! Take heart, friends, eventually it’ll be here to stay!

Well, glad we got that out of our system!

Are we havin’ fun yet? 😎

The sounds of spring aren’t far off. But if you can’t wait, here’s a little sample to get you by.

The boys have been busy lately. They’re finally caught up with orders so they’re getting a bunch of extra round bale feeders built. If you’ve been welding that old steel feeder together, just drop it off at the scrapyard and come get one of these. You won’t regret it. And we’d be grateful for the business! 😊

The forecast doesn’t look great for our winter wonderland, so here are some pics of December so far. ❄️

Since we’ve been sharing summer projects, here’s another one that kept us busy (and took out Jason’s back for a while). For ten years now, we’ve been trying to improve our livestock handling facilities a little at a time. It can be very expensive, and it also takes a while to figure out exactly how you want it set up. This year we re-oriented things so the layout more closely fits the design the industry refers to as a “bud box.” It definitely improved things, but we still have ideas for further improvement. The ultimate goal is to reduce the amount of stress on both the animals and the farmers as much as possible.

We’re no experts, and we can share a lot about what NOT to do, but if this is something you’re interested in learning more about, Jason will be giving a presentation called Livestock Logic at the 2026 GrassWorks Grazing Conference, Jan 22-24 in La Crosse. And if all you’re interested in is eating good beef, well, then maybe now you have a little more appreciation for all that goes into caring for those animals safely! Also, shout out to James and Colten for helping test out the new setup!

Back in fall when we were working feverishly on completing our pre-winter tasks before snow, we decided to make things harder by thinking of new tasks along the way - a common occurrence around here. One of those tasks was the milkhouse. It needed a new coat of paint. That led to the door. Why not build a new one from scratch? Then, the cool sign Timothy made in school - why not illuminate it? Since we’ve gone that far, we might as well clean out the inside of the milkhouse. Heck, let’s move the freezers into there! Lo and behold, the milkhouse has been completely repurposed as our farm store! And to think - it wasn’t even on our task list. 😏

So, next time you come to pick up beef, keep in mind that we’ve moved to a new location - about 105’ away. 😊

You know about the milk mustache, but have you seen the snow-stache? 😃 These ladies aren’t afraid to dig right in!

It’s December 1 and we’re still grazing! We had 40 acres of pasture that was not touched since before August. Our plan was to “stockpile” it then to graze it now. We figured there was enough forage to keep grazing through December. This snow threw a little wrench in plans but our cows are figuring it out. We’ll see how far we can get. It’s pretty cool seeing them graze right through the snow!

Hey customers! We think we’ve made it through the entire list of orders for the year. If we missed anyone, please reach out!

We’re fully stocked at the moment with the full array of cuts. These fall-butchered steers have been on green grass since May, and they are oh, so tasty! You better put some in your freezer while they’re available. You may be especially interested in the 2” thick ribeyes or the 3 lb roasts! 😋🤤
