Our first hatched! Hopefully at least one more to come. And two more eggs are incubating, a week behind these ones. None of the ducklings hatched so we ordered more from .

The have been crazy lately!

Both hatched successfully and judging by their color the broody mom was not likely the biological mom. Several more eggs (all blue) may still hatch but those definitely do not belong to broody mom either. She was also sitting on a bunch of eggs and one egg but they either weren't fertile or didn't develop correctly. Since mama goose won't sit we now have a bunch of goose eggs and some duck eggs in our other incubator.

We have a couple of trying to . Mama took care of these for most of the incubation but hopped off her nest near the end.

Fishing opener

We had a bunch of visitors to the pond yesterday including , wood ducks, Canada geese, our own domestic and , and my favorite, a . Today we got to hear the loon call and take off on its Northern migration again.
