Appliances are coming Friday, and we could not be prouder of this kitchen. We did a complete redesign to maximize space and create a more open feel.
🕵🏻‍♀️ Hidden in the walls was this gorgeous barn wood that we saved to create a separation between the refrigerator and the living space.
We’re getting close and hope to have this unit finished up over the summer! ☀️

👋🏼 Hi neighbors!
We wanted to give everyone fair warning that we have a large project starting (hopefully) mid-week.
The sidewalks on the end of Crowe Avenue and W. School Street are being replaced! 🎉
We were originally going to try and wait a year or two (thus why we already had landscaping in place 😅), but after this winter we can’t in good conscience leave them as is. From start to finish we anticipate the sidewalks being out of commission for between 10 days and 2 weeks. While the contractor will do their best to minimize disruption, there will be construction equipment on and around W. School Street, between Crowe and Grand. 👷🏻‍♀️ We ask that you please use caution to ensure everyone’s safety.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience the work might cause but this will be a much needed improvement to our little town; assuring the kids that get on/off the bus on the corner or those that come into town for events - have a safe place to walk.

Progress update 🌟
The bedroom is almost complete and it looks amazing!
Ceiling fan is going in this weekend, and carpet is being installed later this month.
This unit is going to be a stunner - can’t wait to show you all the kitchen and living room! Stay tuned!

Don’t worry, the ceilings will be bright white when all is said and done but at least they’re no longer foam or falling down 😅
The layout of this unit was choppy and made it feel smaller than it was, we opened it up and made it considerably more functional.
We’re getting to the fun part. Trim is next then we can get into paint, flooring, cabinets and finishes. Stay tuned 👀

If you’ve been following for any amount of time, you know that we LOVE any and all historical elements of a home. We try to keep whatever we can salvage. Unfortunately a lot of it has already been stripped away from our current project, but we’ve managed to save all the original lumber that has come from the house. There will be 2 natural, original, wood feature walls in the upstairs unit. What you’re looking at (after a little love and a lot more sanding) will be beam wrap and baseboards for those walls 😍
I think there’s such beauty in every mill mark and “imperfection”. What do you think?

The Crowe house has some of the best ‘blast from the past’ patterns I’ve seen! Definitely solidifies that trends run in cycles, because I feel like you could find something similar online today.

It’s been a busy weekend - Homecoming, Apple Fest, and we decided to repaint the outside of the house 😅
We still have a long way to go, but we’re making progress. In the spring we’ll fix the concrete and replant the yard. Here’s to winter and refocusing inside.

A few tons of decorative stone, and we’ll be on our way to washing and painting the house. 🎨
