Some people just have a way of making your day! This former client, forever mentor, and BEST FRIEND to Wilbur and Mocha knows how to do - just that! He always remembers Wilbur's favorite bones and that Mocha can not have them due to her diabetes. You are a gem to Designs Group and to our community! 🐾

Wrapping up the week with some reflections from our fearless leader, Dawn!

"What this past year has taught me as we all experienced ‘going through’ a pandemic.
It brought to my attention that this event changed – who we are – NOW.

For some, it brought more time to spend at home with their families. Time to help their children with homework, to play games, watch movies and just find more snuggle time. It was a good change that brought a return to family.

For some, it brought an end to a family business or their job that sustained their family and way of life. It caused a rethinking of what is important in our lives. We had to find new ways to create a routine and a semblance of life again.

For others, it brought a longing to be with family, friends, aging loved ones that we were so used to seeing on a weekly or monthly basis to fill our memory and love tank back to full.

This past year brought many things – sadness, loss, imagination, sharing in new ways, closeness, and distance – this past year caused our emotions to go places we never thought possible. I will take from this past year a new appreciation for my journey and the people who are on it with me . Everyone may be going through the same event – but we all have very different outcomes."

Here’s Tiffany, another one of our designers! She’s found a few things to have changed, but much to stay quite the same!
“Over the past year, I feel lucky to say that not a lot has changed for me. I’m still working from home and tackling an endless array of projects.
Between my show rabbits, chickens, and canine companions, it’s assured that I never spend a day alone. There’s always work to be done on my suburban homestead, so things are never boring.
I am so excited to see that last year cultivated an array of new people that want to produce their own food no matter what size lot they have. It’s inspiring to find a community within that group.”

After a lot more time spent at home, Alexis found herself looking back to some long-lost hobbies! She has always been prone to jump into a craft headfirst, but the past year really gave her the opportunity to get back into some favorites.
Since March of last year she has been happy to finally pick up a few books and started reading again. “I used to read SEVERAL books a week, but the practice sort of slipped away. It was great to experience that ‘just ONE more chapter’ feeling again”.
She also cooked through a few new recipes in a seafood cookbook and built some new structures for her plants. Next on her list? Stained glass – wish her luck!

Continuing on in our reflections, here’s a few words from one of our Designers, Beth!
“How do I get through the daily grind with the Pandemic going on? Music is playing in the background, and I look for funny things that make me smile. Every day I look up a lame joke. You know, the kind that makes you roll your eyes or shake your head, yeah, that kind.
Here's an eye-roller for you: Which dog breed is guaranteed to laugh at all of your jokes? A Chi-ha-ha!”
