Happy Memorial Day!

Tony Roush; My Uncle, David Howard passed away this past Friday. Here is his obituary. Custer’s was such a huge part of his life. The family story goes like this. He wanted to get a job at Custer’s but he was just 14. His parents, Wilbur (Munson’s Pontiac) and Elizabeth (Rosemary’s Bakery) told him no, that he was too young. Likely told him to worry about getting good grades. We know how it goes…
He waited until they were going out of town one Saturday and he rode his bike to Custer’s and got himself a job. The rest is history… he ended up running the place for the Custer’s for many years until it was closed down for redevelopment of the property.
His little sister Karen Howard-Roush was my mother.

I liked dipping my fries in my chocolate mike shake when I was young.
