I finally caught Scary Movie 6 and it feels so good to have the OGs back in the driver’s seat.

My loyalty to the Wayans family runs deep. It started way back in the 80s with projects like I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.

I watched the revolution happen in real-time with In Living Color. The world saw what happened when the industry tried to strong arm them. So they walked & I don’t blame them. In living Color was not the same show after. They were missing that special thing. You definitely can’t break a family that rides for each other like they do. 💯

When the original Movie dropped, my friends and I were obsessed with every single reference. It was pure lightning in a bottle. We saw the shift when they had to step away from the franchise later. For me, the magic just wouldn’t be the same without their signature creative pulse. I stayed away. I didn’t watch the sequels. I knew better. 🙅🏾‍♂️

But hearing they secured creative control again? I knew I had to be there for the return. Seeing them back together doing what they’ve perfected over four decades? It’s iconic. Also seeing the next generation of Wayans was cool too. So many familiar faces on screen.
