Harvest baskets going strong right now in Central Texas. Gardens are definitely confused with this warm winter, but we are enjoying the produce while it lasts!!

Fall gardens are in full swing. The transition is gradual this year- the last of the okra will come out this week and brassicas are in place. We are all enjoying the mild temps and prepping for cold snaps to come.

Welcome August! While we are looking forward to cooler temps in the fall, this garden is not skipping a beat in production. This month is all about enjoying the last bits of summer!

Peppers galore! They are finally enjoying some of the summer heat. Leaning in to the season is so much easier when you plant accordingly. Hopefully your gardens are prepped for summer so you can take some respite from the heat. In Texas this is a must! We may have the ability to grow in all seasons, but July and August are months that require intention if you choose to garden during this time. Many gardeners let their gardens rest as they prepare for fall.

You know summer is here when okra is ready. Okra is like zucchini- you better keep up with your harvest before it gets too big!

Recent rains and hail pummeled Austin and the Hill Country this week. Our gardens were lucky to have been spared the hail. Thinking of all our farmers and garden friends spending the weekend on clean up. If you can get out to the Farmers Markets- they could really use your support!

It has been a busy spring! We are still enjoying all of the color, but are busy prepping for the heat to come in Central Texas. Cool season greens are transitioning out and making way for summer veggies. We are watching gardens closely and troubleshooting any irrigation problems before we settle in to the summer routines!
