It's Who's Who Wednesday! 🌲 Meet Chelsey β€” Practice Manager, LVT, and our resident superhero πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ Her superpower? Finding solutions. Her kryptonite? Probably a bad tomato πŸ… When she's not keeping Pine Tree running like a well-oiled machine, she's homesteading and listening to audiobooks. We honestly don't know how she does it all!

This summer, we're taking a moment to recognize something that often goes unspoken: our COMMUNITY. Pine Tree Veterinary Hospital isn't just a clinic. It's built on the trust, kindness, and genuine care of the people in our community. You.

To every pet parent who trusts us with your beloved companion β€” thank you. You're the reason we do this.

To every team member who shows up every day with passion β€” thank you. You make our clinic what it is.

To every pet we've ever cared for β€” thank you. You make this work meaningful. Summer can bring challenges: heat, travel, busy schedules, and emergencies. But when we're all in this together β€” when we're all supporting each other and our pets β€” we can handle anything.

So this summer, we're recommitting to being the clinic our community deserves.

We're here for you. In the heat of the season. During emergencies. For routine wellness. For the big worries and the small questions.

We're grateful for you. Every single one. Let's make this summer amazing together. πŸ’š

We're officially in peak parasite season. 🦟

June, July, and August are when parasites are at their MOST ACTIVE. Fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal parasites β€” they're all thriving in the heat and humidity.

If your pet's been on consistent prevention since spring? GOOD. Keep it up. Don't skip doses. Don't think 'oh, I'll just skip one month.' Peak season is NOT when you want to let your guard down. If your pet ISN'T on prevention yet? We need to talk. Right now.

HERE'S THE REALITY:
β†’ ONE flea can become an infestation in weeks
β†’ ONE tick can transmit Lyme disease
β†’ Missing even one month of heartworm prevention increases risk
β†’ Intestinal parasites can cause serious illness quickly

THE GOOD NEWS:
Prevention is simple, affordable, and 99%+ effective.

We've got options for every budget, every pet type, and every lifestyle. Whatever works for you, we can make it happen.

Summer adventures are amazing. But they're safer β€” and more enjoyable β€” when your pet is protected. Don't wait. Don't take chances.

Let's make sure your pet is covered. Book a prevention consultation or refill appointment today. πŸ’š

We're featuring the best ones in our Stories and might even repost them to our main feed.
Best part? Your pet gets to be FAMOUS. πŸ“Έ

Summer is tough on everyone. But it's ESPECIALLY tough on senior pets. 🐾

If your pet is over 7 years old (or you're noticing age-related changes), here's what you need to know about keeping them safe this summer.

SENIOR PETS ARE MORE VULNERABLE TO HEAT BECAUSE:
β†’ They have less efficient cooling systems
β†’ They may have underlying health conditions (heart, kidney, etc.)
β†’ Medications can affect their ability to regulate temperature
β†’ They're less likely to seek water or shade on their own

WHAT TO DO:
βœ” Keep them indoors in AC during peak heat hours
βœ” Provide constant access to fresh, cool water
βœ” Take shorter walks, earlier in the day or after sunset
βœ” Avoid strenuous activity (no long hikes in heat)
βœ” Watch for signs of distress (excessive panting, confusion, reluctance to move) βœ” Consider a cooling mat or vest for outdoor time
βœ” Schedule a wellness check to make sure they're ready for summer

The good news? With a few adjustments, senior pets can still enjoy summer. They just need a little extra care. Let's make sure your older pet has the best, safest summer possible.

Book a wellness check and let's chat about their specific needs. πŸ’š

Summer is here. Heat is rising. Your pet is getting more active, more outdoor time, and more adventures.

But with all that summer activity, one thing pet parents often forget about: dental health.

Let's make sure your pet's dental health is ready for the season.

Schedule a summer dental check-in. Because healthy teeth are happy teeth.

Summer is coming. And if you're like most pet parents, you're probably thinking about everything that could go wrong. πŸ˜… Let's flip that script.

Instead of worrying, let's PREPARE. Because here's what we know: pets whose owners prep ahead? They have amazing summers. Pets whose owners wing it? That's when emergencies happen.

Let's turn your summer anxiety into summer confidence.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST WORRIED ABOUT THIS SUMMER?
β†’ Your pet getting overheated?
β†’ Parasites and tick-borne diseases?
β†’ Your pet escaping or getting lost?
β†’ Your pet getting stressed during travel?
β†’ Managing an older pet in the heat?
β†’ Your pet acting anxious without you during vacations?
β†’ Something else entirely? Drop your biggest summer concern in the comments.

We'll respond with a solution. Not generic advice β€” actual strategies for YOUR specific worry.

Because here's the thing: every concern you have right now? We can address it. We can PREPARE for it. We can turn it into confidence.

That's what June is for. Let's do this together. πŸ’™

Let's talk about heartworm. Not in a scary way. In a 'you need to know this' way. Here's the reality: Heartworm season doesn't wait for summer.

It starts now. In June. When mosquitoes become active. And if you're thinking 'my pet is mostly indoors' or 'heartworm isn't common in my area' or 'I'll start prevention next month' β€” we need to talk.

HERE'S WHAT HEARTWORM IS: Heartworm is a parasite spread by mosquitoes. One infected mosquito bite = one heartworm larva in your pet's bloodstream.

That larva grows into an adult worm (sometimes MULTIPLE worms) that lives in the heart and lungs.

Sounds bad? It is. But it's also completely preventable.

HERE'S WHY MAY IS CRITICAL:
β†’ Heartworm prevention needs to START before mosquito season (now)
β†’ Starting prevention after exposure = too late
β†’ A missed dose in May = a whole month of zero protection
β†’ Even ONE mosquito bite in an unprotected month could infect your pet.

HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS: Prevention is simple, affordable, and 99%+ effective. Options include monthly tablets, monthly injections, or annual injections, depending on what works for your pet.

IF YOUR PET ISN'T ON PREVENTION YET: Don't wait another month. Call us today.

We can start your pet immediately and make sure they're protected all season long.

If your pet IS on prevention: great! Keep it up consistently β€” no skipping months, even if you think it's safe.

This isn't complicated. It's preventable. And prevention is way easier (and cheaper) than treatment. Let's protect your pet. πŸ’™
