Added some more peonies to her garden🥰 thanks Liz for making the trip to come see me … we have been adding to her sleeve bit by bit since 2023 … so most of what you see around the peonies is 2 years healed

An interesting fact about peonies is they can outlive people.

Peony bushes can thrive for decades, and some have been known to survive for over a century.

One remarkable example of how peonies can outlive people is the famous “1000-year-old Peony Tree” in China. This tree is believed to be over a thousand years old and is considered a living treasure. Despite its age, the tree continues to bloom with vibrant peony flowers every spring.

The Peony paired with lightening bugs makes for a very interesting dichotomy, since unfortunately, lightning bugs are endangered.

But there are ways to help !!!

Reduce Light Pollution:
Turn off outdoor lights when not needed, especially during the firefly mating season (summer).
Consider using motion-sensor lights or timers to minimize light exposure.
Close curtains and blinds at night to prevent light from spilling outside.

2. Create and Protect Habitat:
Leave the leaves:
Firefly larvae live in leaf litter and rotting wood, so avoid raking and clearing away all dead leaves and wood.
Mow less:
Fireflies need long grass and vegetation for shelter and laying eggs, so reduce mowing frequency.
Plant native trees and plants:
Provide diverse habitats with native vegetation, which also supports the insects that fireflies eat.

Create a water source:
Fireflies need moist environments, so consider adding a small pond or water feature.
Avoid using pesticides and herbicides:
These chemicals can harm fireflies and their food sources.

The most cute,colorful Trex momma and babies for Stephanie to celebrate her and her two babies 💖this was so fun and Stephanie was such a pleasure to work with. Took a few sessions to get the details and sparkles just right but she was a trooper… I would love to do more super cute, colorful, glittery, Lisa Frank style ish , critters
