THE BASICS MATTER.

But we have to stop confusing the habits that support good health with the habits required to achieve a specific physique goal.

Drinking water, eating protein, strength training, walking, and getting enough sleep are incredible habits!!! and they should be the foundation for all of us.

But if you’re frustrated by your results, it might be time to ask yourself: Do my actions actually match my goal?

Respectfully, you’re asking the wrong questions

Instead of asking a million questions about what they are currently doing, you should be more concerned with what they were doing the past 5+ years (10+ for a lot of us!!!)

I shared in stories yesterday that I lost 15+ pounds postpartum without tracking my food and some of you LOST IT!! The reason I was so successful is because of years I spent dedicated to tracking. ‼️

Same goes for training. I’m in a season of life where I’m having fun with performance. I spent years building my body - now I’m less focused on building and more focused on what it can do. This is not to say that fitness shouldn’t always be fun.. of course it should be!! But if your goal is to improve your body composition, not all exercise is going to be the best and most efficient for that.

Stop hyperfocusing on what your fav influencer is doing NOW because i guarantee that’s not what she did to build her body (myself included !!!)

Behind every scale weight loss goal is a feeling we’re actually chasing.

Confidence.
Strength.
Energy.
Capability.
Freedom.

Most women think they just want to weigh less, but what they really want is to FEEL BETTER IN THEIR OWN SKIN.

The problem is we become so focused on the number that we lose sight of what we’re truly after. Don’t let the scale become the only measure of your progress!!!

Improving my body composition was ALWAYS the goal. I’m not ever going to pretend it wasn’t

What made my journey so successful was I followed the plan despite how I was feeling in the moment. Those first few months were NOT focused on fat loss (again, even though that was my #1 goal).

As a new mom, I had to learn what consistency looked like with supporting habits and behaviors before I even considered dieting.

I put 100% trust in my plan knowing that if I was patient and didn’t make irrational decisions, it would all pay off

And it sure has 💅

Single ingredient meals forever and EVER!!! Save this one for a night you need something quick and easy! 📌

None of these meals I share are groundbreaking but hopefully this series helps you realize THAT’S THE POINT 👏🏻 not every meal needs to be a complicated recipe. The easiest way to stick to your plan and consistency eat meals that help you feel and look your best is to keep it simple!!!

I have even more appreciation for my postpartum fitness journey when I remember that majority of my runs in the early days were stroller runs 🥵 Granted, he weighed less, but holy moly!!! It’s so much harder
