Interior Designer vs. Decorator... what's the difference?

It's one of the most common questions I hear.

Both professionals bring valuable expertise to a project, but their roles aren't always the same.

This kitchen transformation is a great example. While the finished space is certainly more beautiful, the real transformation came from improving how the space functions for everyday life.

When planning a remodel, understanding the difference can help you choose the right professional for your goals.

13 years of marriage has taught me that the best relationships aren't about perfection. They're about friendship, laughter, showing up for each other, and finding joy in the ordinary moments.

The same values that guide my marriage are the values that guide my work: connection, presence, and caring for people well.

Vacation doesn't change our lives.

What changes our lives is what we do when we get home.

That's the biggest lesson I brought back from celebrating another trip around the sun in Mexico. 🌴💙

Walking through this year’s Artisan Home Tour felt different in the best way.

Yes, the homes were stunning—but what stood out most was the shift toward intentional living.

Spaces that feel layered, personal, and deeply livable.
From warmer tones to thoughtful functionality, every detail tells a story about how we want to live now—not just how we want things to look.

✨ A few highlights I’m taking with me: Texture on texture (done beautifully)
• Softer, warmer palettes replacing stark contrasts
• Spaces designed for real life—pantries, mudrooms, and all
• Light used with purpose, not just abundance
• Comfort becoming the new definition of luxury

This is where design is heading—and it’s a direction I love.
